Your workspace
Your account can create family trees and add people, documents and events to the local database. Registration does not purchase a subscription or activate federation.
Responsible preservation
Add material you are entitled to use. Preserve provenance and source references, and distinguish hypotheses from verified facts. Do not publish living people's information without the necessary permissions.
Account access
Use a unique password, keep recovery methods available and review your devices. Invitations and permissions are separate controls; registration does not give others access to your tree.
Preservation and portability
Use the available export, history and recovery tools and keep backups of important material. The test version may contain errors; check imports and machine transcriptions against originals.
Acknowledgement
Registration records the versions of these terms and the privacy policy, the document language, the time and your account identifier. This acknowledgement does not authorize advertising, DNA exchange or publication of family data; those are separate decisions.
